The only job I’ve taken in fifteen years
Doubling a company in ten weeks.
In 2024 Jay Feldman asked me to run operations at Lead Gen Jay, his cold-email education company. It’s the only time in fifteen years I’ve had a title that wasn’t founder.
The product was good. The engine around it wasn’t. I rebuilt how the company found customers: a weekly masterclass with a partner, a hundred to a hundred and thirty people live each time, against a list of a hundred and fifty thousand. I hosted the onboarding calls for the cohort myself, every week, for a year.
The other problem was refunds. I built a page that caught people on the way to asking for one, offered a private onboarding session, and made them say the word “refund” first. Forty-nine of fifty didn’t.
Monthly revenue roughly doubled in ten weeks. Over the ten months that followed it kept climbing. I left in October 2025 to build my own things.
What to know
- I can run someone else’s company, and I’ve done it.
- Growth is a system, not a tactic. I built the system and ran it.
- The doubling is what two other people said on recordings. The bigger numbers I’ve quoted about that year are my own recollection, and I label them that way.
